Open Positions

New: fully funded PhD position in the area of artificial skin fabrication: making a stretchable, self-healing sensor-system in the laboratory.

A fully funded Ph.D. position is available (sorry, but funding source allows only UK/EU nationalities) in the area of artificial skin fabrication. This project is about using cutting-edge research for fabricating stretchable, self-healing sensor systems with a nanofibrous structure with living cells in it (artificial skin). We will use 3D nanoprinting and electrospinning techniques for the fabrication. A motivated experimentalist is sought, with background in bioengineering or nanotechnology. This is a joint project with EMPA, Switzerland (part of the ETH domain), and 50% of the time the research will be performed in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Please apply here if you feel you are interested and are a good match. Interviews start in December 2016.

PhD position in the area of 3D nanoprinting artificial skin and organs:

Self-funded students for a Ph.D. position are welcome to apply. The prototype of a novel 3D nanoprinter will be used to fabricate stretchable  self-healing, skin-like materials and scaffolds with STEM cells for making artificial skin and organs. Enthusiastic applicants with a very strong CV should contact Dr. Norbert Radacsi. Please only apply if you already have funding that is sufficient for the UK (covers tuition fee & living expenses).

PhD position in the area of energy storage systems

Self-funded students from all over the world are welcome to apply for a Ph.D. position in the field of nanostructured batteries, fuel cells and supercapacitors. Funding needs to cover both tuition fee & living expense in the UK.

For Chinese applicants I can recommend the CSC/University of Edinburgh scholarship that can fully fund the Ph.D. program. It's not open for 2017/18 applications yet, but should be open within a few months. Please note that it's very competitive!

Post-doctoral positions in the area nanostructured materials

Self-funded post-doctoral applicants or are welcome to apply to the group. I am willing to help with applications for scholarships that can fully fund a post-doctoral training for at least 1 year. The proposal area should be anything related to nanostructured materials.

Visiting scientist positions in the area nanostructured materials

Self-funded assistant professors are welcome to apply to the group.

NOTES:

Entry requirements are detailed here. As for English requirements, IELTS total 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each component is needed; or TOEFL-iBT total 92 with at least 20 in each section.

Due to lots of applications, sorry that I might not be able to reply to all of you. If I am interested in your application, I will contact you directly although it might take a long time. I appreciate your kind understanding.
